IT Cambridge Technical (Level 3)

The Level 3 Applied ICT qualification is a vocational course and has been designed to give students a work-focused alternative to A levels. The course provides students with an opportunity to learn the essential skills relating to the digital sector and then put these skills into action by making links to industry.

WHAT YOU STUDY 

The Level 3 Applied ICT course provide students with essential knowledge and skills in ICT. A wide range of units and opportunities for practical and project-based work helps students gain an insight into how digital technologies impact businesses, data analysis, use of data in software design and legal and security considerations. 

HOW YOU STUDY 

The course is assessed through both coursework and exam.  All units assist in the development of transferrable skills such as critical thinking, communication and problem solving. The coursework units encourage the development of time management, research and analytical skills.

The teaching staff are experienced and have the relevant subject knowledge and skills to deliver the supporting knowledge, understanding and skills requirements for each unit.  Teaching resources and assessment activities are planned to give learners every opportunity to meet the requirements of the unit and reach the highest grade possible.  We have a proven track record of excellent results in IT; making it one of the highest achieving subjects in the sixth form. 

PROGRESSION TO UNIVERSITY/CAREERS 

The Level 3 Applied ICT course provides students with a solid foundation for higher education, technical apprenticeships or employment in the IT sector
