Students will undertake two pieces of fieldwork during the course which will relate to a selection of the above topics.
HOW STUDENTS WILL STUDY
During the course students will partake in a variety of learning activities including field studies, developing cartographical skills and deepening understanding of a variety of places. Students will use IT to research and present data and information.
We like to use a variety of teaching activities such as balloon modelling, jelly babies to show population change and lego to demonstrate river landforms. We want to make your learning as memorable as possible.
During lessons the teacher will guide students through the examination content signposting extra research or reading that could help your child’s knowledge and understanding.

PROGRESSION ROUTES
The job market has become increasingly competitive and international. The transferable knowledge and skills developed by studying Geography are actively sought by employers, allowing geographers to consistently experience higher than average levels of employment.
It is a myth that geographers can only do certain types of jobs. In fact there is a wealth of jobs geographers do, spanning almost every sector.
The Russell Group of Universities has elected Geography as one of their preferred ‘facilitating’ A-Level subjects to support an application to their degree courses.
