Bereavement

Bereavement and grief are extremely difficult for both adults and children to deal with at any particular time. However during this current crisis additional support may be needed to support families. Experiencing loss during the current crisis may cause additional trauma as we are unable to lean on support from family and friends and other support networks due to the government guidelines. We hope the following links will be useful. We also have qualified school counsellors so please contact Miss Meanley (nmeanley@hswv.co.uk) should your child require any support.

Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic. If you need support you can contact any of the support groups below. Lockdown does not make this abuse OK for you and your children please reach out for help.

Staying safe online

It is very important for your child to stay in touch with friends and family during these strange times, however, it is crucial that they are safe and only communicate with people that they know or are familiar with. The closure of school means that opportunities for them to talk with their friends is limited to online interaction. This alongside schoolwork means that they are spending much more time online so it is more important than ever to understand how to help them to stay safe online.

If you require further information, guidance or support then please contact a member of the Safeguarding Team.
