We hope that you are all keeping safe and well and staying at home of course. Highfields have established a very effective 'Learning at Home' package to meet your educational needs, however we wanted to provide some information regarding your personal wellbeing.
Supporting your mental health
The COVID-19 pandemic is a new and uncertain time for all of us and it will affect our mental health in different ways. It is crucial to remember that however you are feeling right now is valid. It is OK not to be OK. The current government plans are that remote learning from home will continue for a little longer so we want to reassure you that all will be OK. Below you will find helpful information and guidance on mental health.
Be Kind
At Highfields, we are very proud of all our students and love how diverse and together our school community remains, even during the current pandemic. Although we are not currently attending school, we still wanted to raise awareness around International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia and Black Lives Matter. It is important that you are aware of discrimination and know how to promote and celebrate equality and diversity.
Staying safe online
It is very important to stay in touch with friends and family during these strange times, however, it is crucial that you are safe and only communicate with people that you know or are familiar with. The closure of school means that opportunities for you to talk with friends is limited to online interaction. This alongside schoolwork means that you are spending much more time online so it is more important than ever to understand how to stay safe online.
