A World Book Day So Good, We Didn’t Want to Put It Down!
Highfields was buzzing with excitement from the moment students stepped through the doors this morning, raring to dive into a day packed with literary adventure.
As part of a whole-school scavenger hunt, classrooms were renamed after famous fictional places, from magical realms to mysterious lands. Students eagerly searched the school to track them all down, with the first to complete the challenge winning the chance to choose a special signed edition of a book.
Creativity was also in full flow. Students decorated miniature wooden doors inspired by their favourite stories, each one a unique celebration of the books they love. Meanwhile, the ever-popular book swap gave students the opportunity to trade in stories they had already enjoyed for brand-new adventures, proving that a good book always finds a new home.
To top off an already unforgettable day, two incredibly talented Lower School students unveiled a stunning haute couture dress they had designed and created entirely from scratch, using only recycled books. Their dedication and craftsmanship over the past few weeks resulted in a truly show-stopping piece that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.
