Highfields Year 7 Rugby Team Enjoy Reward Trip to Leicester Tigers
The Highfields School Year 7 rugby team recently enjoyed an unforgettable rewards trip to watch Leicester Tigers take on Northampton Saints at Mattioli Woods Welford Road.
The trip was organised to reward the players for their outstanding commitment, attitude, and performances throughout the year. The day began with a fantastic coaching session delivered by Leicester Tigers community coaches, where the boys took part in a range of professional training drills designed to develop their handling, and game awareness skills.
As part of the experience, the students were also given the exciting opportunity to interview a Leicester Tigers first-team player Charlie Myall. The boys asked a variety of thoughtful questions about training, preparation, and what it is like to play professional rugby, gaining a real insight into life as an elite athlete.
The day was then rounded off by watching Leicester Tigers produce an outstanding performance to convincingly defeat Northampton Saints 41–17 in front of a fantastic atmosphere at Welford Road. The students thoroughly enjoyed seeing professional rugby played at such a high standard and were inspired by the intensity and skill shown throughout the match.
A huge thank you goes to Leicester Tigers for providing such a memorable experience for our students.
