From peaks to Palaces - Highfields Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards at Buckingham Palace

The school’s Duke of Edinburgh team enjoyed a truly memorable day at the Gold Award Celebration event held at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 20th May 2026. Current staff, pupils and former pupils were invited to the prestigious event in recognition of successfully completing their Gold DofE Award. The day celebrated the dedication, resilience and commitment shown throughout their DofE journey and provided a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Buckingham Palace gardens alongside thousands of other award holders from across the country. Hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the event marked the 70th anniversary of the DofE and included speeches, live entertainment and celebrations of the outstanding achievements of young people nationwide. Everyone involved represented the school superbly and should be extremely proud of their achievement.
