DEPARTMENT STRENGTHS AND RESOURCES
The staff in the department have experience in Human and Physical Geography. The Geography Department has a proven track record of results and has prepared many students for successful applications to study for higher level geography qualifications beyond our Sixth Form.
PROGRESSION TO UNIVERSITY/CAREERS
The job market has become increasingly competitive and international. The transferable knowledge and skills developed by studying Geography are actively sought by employers allowing geographers to consistently experience lower than average levels of unemployment.
It is a myth that geographers can only do certain types of jobs. In fact, there is a wealth of jobs geographers do spanning almost every sector.
The Russell Group of Universities has elected Geography as one of their preferred ‘facilitating’ A-Level subjects to support an application to their degree courses.
